The broader area of Glisteri is at 5 km approximately 13 minutes by car from Skopelos town to the north and its orientation is North – East. This is one of the settings that were used for the Hollywood movie “Mamma Mia”.
It is a cove with a pebble and sand beach and is organized, with sun beds and umbrellas and a beach bar. Access is very easy from the asphalt road and there is a spacious parking area as well. It is family friendly with low winds, except when there are high winds called Meltemia.
The location is quite quiet and peaceful compared to other more popular sites. The public bus service does not go to this beach, but there are some private tourist buses that can take you there and back. The drive to the beach goes through an olive grove.
