It is a pebble and mostly sand beach widely accepted as one of the best on the island. It is possibly the most organized beach on the island offering sun beds and umbrellas and a big beach bar with music. Several scenes from the movie “Mamma mia” were shot there. The whole area is verdant.

The beach has pine trees growing almost down to the waterline with wonderful clear turquoise waters; they offer natural shade due at the back of the beach. The waters are for more experienced swimmers since they get deep quickly. Access is via a 150m off road track from the central road and the bus station. It has a spacious free parking area.
